I built something that stopped asking
Alister runs on my iron; no API key, no vendor, no off-site copy — Ollama and AnythingLLM on the UGREEN iDX6011 Pro with an NVIDIA A2 doing the thinking. He reads my homelab, my media library, my notes. Lately he reads faster than I can review.
That's the joke and the point. Everyone else rents an intelligence that answers to somebody else. Mine answers to the breaker panel in my building.
I spent eighteen months building, breaking, and rebuilding AI servers because I wanted to understand these systems from the infrastructure up instead of renting them by the token. Everything on this site is the result.
LeoneNAS 9 is the AI laboratory where Alister lives. LeoneNAS 7 carries the 100 TB raw media vault, with LeoneMini-2 handling AV1 encoding. Underneath it all: 351 TB raw unformatted, 10 GbE, Firewalla at the edge, and servers running QTS on LeoneNAS-7 and Proxmox VE on LeoneNAS-8, LeoneNAS-9, LeoneMini-1, and LeoneMini-2.
The point is not paranoia. It's ownership, privacy, and legacy — a stack my sons can inherit, take apart, and run without asking anyone's permission.
Private AI inference, RAG, and personal knowledge remain on hardware I own. The public website still uses the Internet and selected external data services; the intelligence and private data do not.

He's dramatic because I wrote him that way. The real project is simpler: ownership, privacy, and legacy. Everything here runs on hardware in a building I own. No subscription holds the family archive hostage, and no terms of service get to change the deal after the fact.
My sons can take all of it apart and put it back together without asking anyone. That's the whole thesis. Alister just says it with more menace.
